Experiment with new immersive technologies and create your own innovative VR projects on the VRUK BetaLab. And get up to £500 to help you to develop your own project!
As part of this year’s VRUK Festival Ravensbourne is launching a new and exciting development programme for up to 10 artists and content creators from across the Creative Industries. This has been designed by Patrick Morgan and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
About the VRUK BetaLab
Participants will initially attend a series of workshops from 10-14 July at Ravensbourne’s campus. Content will include:
- Project development and the fundamentals of VR design
- VR drawing using Google Tilt Brush and Mozilla A Painter
- 360 filmmaking
- Sound design
- 3D modelling and visualisation
- Project development and critical forum
Learning will be personalised to match individual needs. Experts will be on hand to guide learning and participants will be encouraged to collaborate throughout the week.
Following the workshops, participants will develop their own VR projects, with a final showcase being held in Autumn 2017.
Who should apply?
We are looking for content creators who are willing to experiment, push boundaries and take their projects to the next level through the use of virtual reality technologies.
Applications are invited from any of the following fields:
- Illustration, graphic design
- Music, sound, spoken word
- Film, documentary or animation
- Virtual, augmented and mixed reality
- Immersive theatre
